Here’s my final recipe that I’d love to share with you. After trying different amounts, my frappé finally turned out perfect. When you blend it up with coffee, you get something that almost tastes like a latte, but without the milk. It’s perfect for thickening any kind of sauces and soups. You don’t have to buy it solely for the purpose of making frappés. It emulsifies and significantly improves the frappé’s texture. I started my research and finally found the magic ingredient: Xantham Gum. The ice would always separate from the rest and float on top. After a lot of trial and error, I still wouldn’t get the texture right. When I finally got a new, powerful blender I was pretty excited to be able to make Matcha frappés at home. The Key Ingredient For a Perfect Matcha Frappuccino But not only that – matcha is packed with antioxidants, including the compound EGCG. Matcha has plenty of that good stuff – it’s five times more in comparison to regular green tea. Studies also have shown that L-Theanine compensates for the negative physiological effects that caffeine has, like increased blood pressure and jitteriness. It significantly extends the duration of the caffeine’s effects. Matcha does not only have plenty of caffeine but also contains an amino acid analogue called L-Theanine. Why Matcha Gives You More Energy Than Coffee After the effects begin to fade, which can happen pretty quickly, you’re gonna have much less energy than you had before drinking that cup of coffee. If you’re not used to high amounts of caffeine (which is advisable), you might also even experience inner unrest and anxiety. After downing your cup of coffee your energy levels are going to spike, but that won’t last for very long.
